Aftermath/Interscope recording artist Bishop Lamont has teamed up with video game publisher Rockstar Games to contribute music in upcoming projects.
“I’m a big gamer, and I’m excited to work with Ivan and Rockstar Games,” said Bishop in regards to the deal. “They make some of my favorites, like ‘Grand Theft Auto.’ Who do you know that doesn’t play that game?”
The first place you can catch this new alignment is in Rockstar’s “Midnight Club: Los Angeles.” Bishop’s song “City Lights,” featuring The New Royales and produced by DJ Khalil, is part of a West Coast Hip-Hop radio station embedded in the game that players can listen to while cruising around a virtual version of Los Angeles. “‘City Lights’ was a fun record to make, and my fans loved it when they heard it on my mixtape ‘The Confessional’ with DJ Whoo Kid. And, this is the only time you’ll be able to drive drunk to it!”
Currently, Bishop is putting the finishing touches on his debut solo album “The Reformation.” “It’s been a while in the making, and the fans have waited long enough. This album will be coming out, one way or another, very shortly.”
Bishop caused some controversy this past Halloween (which was also his birthday) when he dropped a new song called “Missile Testing (Death To Infidels).” While internet chat forums were buzzing about possible disses toward Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube on the track, Bishop insists that the song was meant for someone else. “This ain’t about Snoop Dogg,” said Bishop. “It has nothing to do with Snoop Dogg. This is a warning shot for Jayceon. That’s it.” “Jayceon,” better known as The Game, was also called out by Bishop during his recent European tour with Black Milk & Guilty Simpson [Watch Video Here].
“Midnight Club: Los Angeles” is available now for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PSP game consoles. Indef’s “The Product,” hosted by Bishop Lamont, is available for free download now via ChronicVacation.com
